Food Bank Program

About our program

We are a fixed address hamper program that can serve you once every 28 days. We give about 1-7 days worth of food. Items given are dependent on donations received and may vary each visit.

Client Service Protocols

Clients attending the Cochrane Food Bank are asked to attend the food bank on scheduled open days. Clients (and visitors) to the Food Bank are encouraged to wash their hands and use hand sanitizer. Please ensure you have the proper documentation prior to your visit, and that you are attending on your eligible visit date or later (see below for policy).  

What do I need to bring?

For service at the Food Bank, you will need:

  • Valid, physical ID (driver’s license, Passport, Ontario Card, birth certificate, Health Card, Status Card etc.) is required at registration for every person you are claiming food for.
  • NOTE:  Expired ID will not be accepted.
  • Upon opening a new client file, or at time of profile review (every 3 calendar months):
    • Mandatory physical proof of a Cochrane address that shows client’s name, current address and be dated no older than 3 months of your visit date.
      • Some examples of proof of address are:  dated piece of mail, utility bill, bank statement, official dated document. 
      • NOTE:  ID MAY be used as proof of address.
    • We will ask if you would share your sources of income for data collecting purposes only. (We do NOT need proof OR to see amounts.)
  • Please ensure you bring bags or something to pack your hamper items in. 

Client Hours:

Monday to Wednesday – 10am to 12pm

Thursday & Friday – 4pm to 6pm
